About the Event
The Portsmouth Mayor’s Ride will run from 3:00 - 4:30pm on Sunday, May 5th and will depart from New Franklin School (1 Franklin Ave). Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45382764
Join Mayor McEachern, SABR, city staff and planners for a 6 mile slow roll tour of Portsmouth neighborhoods and bike routes! We will meet at 3pm (as the Bike Rodeo wraps up) and then ride as a group on road and on new paths to a trailhead for the NH Seacoast Greenway (rail trail). From there we will continue out to Pease to see two connections only open to bikes before looping back to the start on quiet streets. We will stop in three locations to discuss and celebrate new and upcoming bike infrastructure.
This group ride is open to all ages provided kids are strong and steady riders; police will assist with intersection crossings.
The route map includes many notes from the city on finished and upcoming bike and pedestrian projects (as of April 2024) which are worth a look even if you can’t join for the ride: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45382764
Please RSVP and sign the digital waiver to participate!
